I am and have always been very serious about being a breeder, and I take pride in my Boerboels and Miniature Boerboels. Downsizing the height and weight of the Boerboel was no easy task, but the reward of seeing that it actually worked is beyond my expectation. On the About us and our Boerboels page you will find some of my history regarding the Boerboel.
I'm very excited to be able to offer potential new owners a puppy that has the Boerboel love and loyalty in a smaller more manageable package.
The Miniature Boerboel was not created to be a working nor protection breed. They were created to be an alarm dog that is healthy, loving and ultimate family companion.
Some Benefits of a Miniature Boerboel:
I am proud to say that the Miniature Boerboel has been accepted as a breed and registered with American Rare Breed Association. This is not a designer breed. They are classified under the Companion Group.

I have added to this page some questions and answers to address assumptions (opinions) I see on social media, but that are never directly asked to me. Also, there is some helpful information to understand how miniature breeds are developed.
I included this next statement on the "Miniature Boeboel Pups Available" page on my website as well in case this section isn't read by potential owners:
The term "miniature" when used in reference to dogs can have two distinct meanings. First term: "miniature" can refer to the fact that the dog is a smaller version of a larger breed with the same name for example: the miniature poodle. Second term: "miniature" can refer to the fact that the dog is just a small dog breed. My Miniature Boerboels are the first term. By this, I mean they aren't miniature as in a tiny dog, bu that they are a smaller version of the full size Boerboel.
There are more similarities than differences. This breed looks like the varieties of boerboels out here (past and present). The only notable physical difference is size.
Comparison on height and weight: This is collection of accepted weight and height set by AKC, UKC, SABBS, NABBA , etc. for the full size.
Full Size :
Male weight - 140 to 200 lbs. Height - 22 to 29 inches Female weight - 110 to 200 lbs. Height - 21 to 26 inches
Miniature Size :
Male weight - 50 to 90 lbs. Height 15 to 19 inches Female weight - 45 to 75 lbs. Height 14 to 18 inches
With either a mini or full size, a dog should be proportionate. Example: 200 lbs. being 22 inches tall is not proportinate nor is 110 lbs. being 28 inches tall. This concept applies to the miniatures. For instance, 19 inches weighing 45 lbs is not correct for an over all proportionate built dog of this breed. This is easier said than done, unless you simply buy your breeding dogs and do not want to create your own lines as a breeder. This goes for both full size and miniatures.
My answers to a few questions (statements) I have see out on social media:
* Do I breed Dwarfs? No, never have nor have I ever seen or owned one in person.
* Did I keep breeding my smallest Boerboels together to make them smaller? Most, if not all, longtime Boerboel breeders have had a tiny pup born before, but many don't mention them. I don't breed two little Boerboels together as I think that would be mutant to mutant (advised by many vets I have worked with). Even though I haven't seen seen, nor heard, of any issues in the littles ones once they mature.
* Do I use disqualifying Boerboels (dogs that doesn't meet the standard) in my miniatures? No, I use my best (high scoring, show) Boerboels.
* Why didn't I name them something other than Miniature Boerboel? Well, that's what they are to me and others that own them.
* What breed did I use other than my best Boerboels to create the Miniatures? I didn't use just one breed, this took several combined breeds. I used the same breeds that make up the breeds in a full size Boerboel.
NOTE: Often the miniature version of a dog comes after years of breeding the full sized version by crossing it with similar but smaller breeds (in this case I was able to use breeds that exist in the breeds that make up the Boerboel).
It has been stated many times that, "no one knows the exact breeds in a Boerboel." Based on my research, the Bull Mastiff, Rhodesian Ridge Back, Khoisan dogs, Africanis, Great Dane, Bulldog, Mastiffs, Hounds, and Bull terrier are examples of breeds claimed to make up the Boerboel. I have even heard that St. Bernard was in the breed.
